The Couch Potato

Our newest little nephew Colton Levi Tenney has made it here safely and is the cutest little monkey man I've ever seen! I can't get enough of the little guy! Congrats to the Tenney family!

I got a new job. I start next week. I am vair vair excited! There also happens to be a gym in my new place of employment that I will be able to use anytime I want. Which means there is a chance I will start working out again. Hopefully I will motivate myself to do so.

I feel that I am in a funk. (flashes of the Glee episode titled FUNK are going thru my head) Lately I have watched 4 seasons of Bones and my most exciting news is that I just got 20 kills on Call of Duty Black Ops. (which by the way, really is exciting. and yes, its embarrassing but I think I have become more of a gamer than Dan is.) Anyway, I think I need to be doing something better and more fulfilling with my time. There are a few things I would like to make: pillows to match my new bedspread, curtains, some decorations for the walls, and a skirt from this really cute fabric I got forever ago. I also would like to sit down and write out an actual budget for us to follow. And I would like to read some new books. But every day when I wake up, instead of getting going with my day I curl up on the couch for a few hours and watch tv shows. Then I eat and go to work til 10:30. I think my new job (which is 9-5) will help me have more of a constant schedule so maybe I will be able to plan to do other things too. I dunno, how do I motivate myself to not be so lazy? Maybe I should give myself treats when I do something worthwhile... like chocolate.

Something that was very worthwhile is, Dan took me on a date. It was very romantic. There is a movie theater right by our house and all tickets are only 3 bucks. They aren't new releases but they aren't dollar theater movies yet. Also, you can get a large popcorn for 2 bucks, a large soda for 2 bucks, and candy for a dollar! We saw the new Narnia movie which I loved. We got some of everything and ate ourselves silly. It was wonderful.

So this post is kind of all over the place but thats the way it goes. :) :)

Here are my picks for the casting of The Hunger Games movie, schedule to release in 2012. My choices are based on looks alone, not acting ability necessarily. Whatcha think?

two thousand and eleven

ten resolutions for this year:

study and understand scriptures better
go to the temple more often
write down more- journal/blog/etc

work out weekly (I'll work up to daily... maybe...)
save money
go on a date with my boyfriend every week
stay in touch with all my friends that live far away
eat healthier. as in eat three meals a day and stop eating after midnight. (its my favorite time to munch)
audition for local theatre
make more things- anything crafty because it makes me so happy when I do!

ps: i just realized in the last few posts and the pic on top i'm wearing the same sweater. don't judge me... its just a coincidence.

finished 2010 with a bang

VEGAS BABY! We spent the new year down in Sin City. We went with some friends and stayed for the weekend. Our friend Chon hooked us up with a swanky suite at Mandalay Bay. New Years Eve we went down the strip and just partied there for the countdown. It was pretty crowded and insane but it was actually really fun! The hotels along the strip are so cool and just incredible inside. We ate some yummy food, especially at SERENDIPITY. MMMM it's so good. We got frozen hot chocolate for dessert and it did not disappoint...delicious. We also went to a Piano Bar. It was so much fun. Two guys play the piano and everyone can make requests. They'll play whatever requests come with the most cashola. It was pretty funny watching all the drunk people put cash down for songs and then someone else paying for that song to stop. It was great. It was nice to get away and go on vacay with some friends!

Happy Christmas Ron!

I love Christmas. This year we spent the holiday with my family. On Christmas Eve we all went to Mimi's Cafe for dinner and then went to Temple Square to look at the Christmas lights! It was beautiful! Then we all had a sleepover so Santa could come! Christmas day we opened presents, ate tons and tons of food, and just spent time with each other.
Here's the Oborn Clan! For a little Christmas treat we went out and took family pictures! My cousin's wife Katie took all of them and they turned out wonderful! She is such a talented photographer!

Two Turtle Doves...

Oh I love this time of year SO much. Tis the season to be Jolly. and I am quite jolly. Thanksgiving was great! I had to work Black Friday so it was a short trip but we ventured up to Ririe, Idaho to spend the holiday with Dan's family. The roads were absolutely terrible to drive on so it tooks us over 5 hours to get there. But we made it in time to play some games, eat like crazy and relax with the fam. We haven't seen everyone since we moved so it was really fun to be with them again! Our little nephews are getting so HUGE and adorable!

Things I'm thankful for:
Summer. Fall Leaves. Dan. He is just perfect for me and makes me laugh all the time. He lets me talk his head off, whether its every aspect of my day, every detail of the shows I just watched, or why I need to be a famous movie star and what I would do if I was. He raps with me. He thinks I am funny. He is so sweet to me and can cheer me up instantly. He's a good egg and I think I'll keep him. Computers. Sewing Machines. Money. Jobs. Family. We both have such awesome families! They are the absolute best people. They support and love us unconditionally and are really funny. Road Trips. Creativity. Lakes. TVs. House Boats. Laughter. Friends. We have the coolest, funniest friends ever! Dan gets so excited to see his friengs and is happier to be with them then almost anything else. Weekends with friends are the best. Tights. Primary Callings. Cousins. Gospel. It focuses on families, progression, and happiness and its what gets us by and makes us better people. Places to live. Vampire Diaries. Cars. Pictures. Food. I would die without food. I know that is a given. But seriously, mmmm good food is just so good. For example: edamome, Smash Burger, Waffles and Dinges Truck, Shake Shack, steak with gorgonzola cheese and mushrooms, fried green beans, ice cream, thanksgiving dinner, oh man I'm drooling... Clothes. Boots. Movies. Nieces and Nephews. Books. Man there is nothing like a good book. I'm reading MINI SHOPAHOLIC right now- it is so cute and hilarious. I love that series. Harry Potter. America. Music. Furniture. Cute Bedroom Sets. Vacations. We love going on vacations. We love visiting friends and want to go EVERYWHERE we can. Baths. Airplanes. Opportunities. Love.

And now it is CHRISTMAS SEASON. Christmas music has been playing on the radio since Halloween which is really early but I don't even care because I absolutely love Christmas. I am going to pop in my Josh Groban Christmas CD and listen to that everyday from now on. I can't wait to decorate our home. I got out all of our decorations last night and plan to set them up today! I am a little sad about one thing... we don't have a tree. Here is the story... Last year after Christmas Whitt and I hit up the sales and I bought all new ornaments and decorations and everything for Christmas. I went to get a tree and yipee they were 50% off! I was about to get one when I learned that if I waited a few days they would go down to 70% off. I was all about that so I waited. And then at like the end of February all of a sudden I realized I NEVER got a freakin tree. How could I have forgotten? I was so excited about the ornaments you would think I would obsess about the tree until I had one. But I completely forgot about it and then it was too late. I know I could go buy one now but I can just get such a good deal after Christmas that I must wait. So this year we will be getting a real tree. Which I am excited about but nervous- what if I kill it or it sucks? No, it will be wonderful and Santa will love it! Yay I can't wait for Christmas. Check out JUNE site for a Christmas post coming soon to show you what I love about Christmas. Also every Christmas my dad wears an elf hat that has the elf ears attached, big reindeer slippers and his Christmas Shirt. It is the best.

My thoughts have now moved from fall leaves to cuddling up in blankies by the fire and my tastes have moved from pumpkin dreams to peppermint and hot chocolate. Light up your houses, sing some carols, and send Santa a letter.
