Tis the Season to be Jolly

It is almost December! What?! Goodness gracious the last few months have gone by crazy fast. Good news is, it's Christmas time! I love this time of the year so so much. It makes me feel all cozy. We put up Christmas yesterday which is always a good time. We listened to the greats singing Christmas songs and watched the Polar Express, ELF, Harry Potter (1 AND 2), and A Muppet's Christmas Carol. Not all yesterday... that would be insane. But you know, since Thanksgiving ended and Christmas started.

Anyway, things are so happy right now! We are in our new house, which we love. An outlet mall was just built RIGHT NEXT TO US, so that is wonderful news. I feel it was meant to be for us to live in that location. I think I have started nesting though because I have decided to take on like 500 projects, and unfortunately for Dan, I need his help on most of them. We have been painting, reupholstering, and crafting like crazy people lately. Luckily, he's a sweety and is putting up with me!

We stayed here for Thanksgiving and went to dinner with my sister at her inlaws. It was delicious food and really fun. We played this game called Wits and Wagers. It is a trivia game so I thought I would hate it. Dan is too good at trivia for me to ever have any fun, but it was actually the bomb.com and I want to get it. I really love my sister's inlaws. They are good folk.

Our little man is ALMOST HERE. Holy crapola!  Only 4 weeks away. I'm so excited! and scared! I've been focusing on getting things ready for him, but now I need to try and get me ready. I mean he has been pretty easy to take care of inside my belly, but it makes me so nervous to think he will actually be a human, here with us in just a couple of weeks! How crazy! and awesome! I think he will be the best behaved, smartest, and funniest baby around. Obviously. And he will never poop on me. Maybe on Dan, but not me. Anyway, like I said, I think I am nesting. I just want to clean everything all the time. And that is so not like me. I also want to sleep all the time. But that is very much like me. Dan has to literally push me out of bed now because I am too big and uncomf to move myself. I have mastered rolling while he shoves me and then I basically plop off the bed and stand up. It works pretty good and does a lot for my self esteem.

Well in lieu of Thanksgiving and the Christmas season, I want to say that we are so grateful for so much right now. We have amazing family and friends that have taken such good care of us and are always looking out for us. We wouldn't be where we are without them! Also, I am the luckiest girl ever to have a guy like Dan. He works so hard and makes me laugh always. I lurve him like a billion. I'm grateful for this holiday season where we can all be a little more Christlike!

I got this new app... iSwap faces. hahahahhahahahaha.
Our housey house. Dan thinks the color is the ugliest thing ever. Oh well.

Oh my, teehee. This is a hat we just got for a little buddy. Isn't it so funny and cute!

Sawinnng Batter

On Labor Day my family played in a little softball challenge. It was the North Oborn's vs. the South Oborn's... meaning my Uncle's family (they live north of here) vs. my dad's family. It was so so fun. We held some practices prior to our game and I realized how unathletic I am. I will say I love batting, but standing in the out field watching a ball come one billion miles an hour any where near me sends me running in the opposite direction. What if it hits me in the face and takes my head off? I am certain it is a possibility. Any way, luckily the rest of my family is excellent at the game with the ball that is so not soft. Game day came and we pulled out a big ol' WIN! It was a pretty close game, but we had an awesome 7th inning that won it all for us. The North Oborn's were worthy opponents and we had a blast playing them.

TEAM PICS!

we all had team shirts... they put our faces on their shirts with some smack talk. It was pretty hilar.

We were Captain Kirk's Crew. ...because who else would we be?

is there sugar in syrup?

Update: we are having a BOY. So excited! A mini Dan. ...could be scary, but at least I know he will be so handsome. :) We are so so happy! It is really fun to now know its a little guy in there squirming and kicking around. I love it. We were both surprised, even though I kept telling Dan I knew it was a boy. I was just trying to be on the opposite side of him since he was sure it was a girl. (I'm sweet that way). But the doctor said BOY and Dan said, "ARE YOU SERIOUS??!" ha, it was a really fun day. So far the pregnancy has been good. Not really sick anymore, just tired and certain that my tail bone is broken in half. Luckily I have Dan around. He is the best ever and so sweet to me, even when I am crying for no reason. He should win an award. and I should go get some brownies. Here is a photo of our little playa. He is so wise.

On top of that, we will soon have a house to be able to bring that guy home to! We are so big! We have finally began the process of purchasing our home. It's a townhouse in Lehi. It should be finished on the 27th this month. I honestly can't wait to be able to decorate and paint and spend all our money in the process. Thank you pinterest, for making me feel like I have to have a cute, trendy home or I'll be judged.

We partied hardied this last weekend. Our friends the EVANSes came in town from Texas and the YOUNGBERGulars were here from New York. It was soo much fun having them here! The boys giggled like school children and we played games for hours on end. I am not exaggerating. Hours and hours of Dominion and Settlers. Girls shopped and got our nails done, boys went shooting, and we all ate a lot. It was an excellent weekend.

USA USA USA

Last week was the Fourth of July. My family came down to my brother's house and we had a giant cookout. We had enough food to feed the whole neighborhood and then some. But we are champs and stuffed ourselves silly. We got out the slip-n-slide, the kiddy pool, and the giant umbrella to just relax outside all day long. I lurved it. I love July 4th. Everyone is so patriotic and happy. Especially in my family. America= the best ever. I decided I would kick off the day with a Independence Day monologue to get my family pumped. I memorized the speech about Indepence Day from the movie Independence Day. You know the one that goes, "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight, etc etc". Very motivating and inspiring. Any way, it was going to be classic, but when I walked outside to do it, our neighbors were all out there and I was embarrassed and chickened out. Epic failure. Ah well, I will have to find a different opportunity to make a fool out of myself. :)

I was worried about the firework shows since there have been so many fires around here. There were bans in almost every city from lighting off your own fireworks, but luckily, the shows were still able to go on. We just went down the street a little bit and were able to see the whole valley and the fireworks were pretty close. It was fabbity fab. I think my favorite are the ones that fountain out and are gold. My 3 year old neice said, "Oh my heck, that is so weird. How does that even happen?". I agree, fireworks are totally magical.

So this is the best picture we got of the night. We look really cute. Turns out the flash on my phone is incredibly bright. Anyway, Happy 4th!

Other news: My sister-in-law is about to have a baby. I can't freaking wait. I'm sure she can't either but it will be fun to have a little tiny human in the house. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and I am soooo impatient for it. I just want to hear my little buddies heart beat and make sure all is well. Plus, in like 3 and a half weeks we get to find out what we're having! AHHHHH. Babies are cool.

Our Lil Peanut

I was talking to my friend Nattie last night about writing in our journals when we were little and how we always started it, "Dear Journal, Hi! How are you? Sorry it's been so long since I've written in you. I promise I will do better"! Oh funny kid us.

Dear Blog,

Hi! How are you? Sorry I haven't written on you in so long. I promise I will do better. So here is an update on my life these past three months I have been so rudely away.

First off, and most importantly, Dan and I are going to have a baby. How cool is that? The due date is December 23rd. Christmas baby! My game plan is to hold off and have the baby on December 30th so it isn't born right on Christmas. I think I have complete control in the matter so that is the plan. We found out we were with child back in April. It was pretty funny to see Dan's terrified face as he choked out, "I'm so happy." But we have now been able to hear the heartbeat and see our cute little nugget, plus my belly is poking out so the whole thing is more real and we can not wait. Our baby is going to be so awesome. I am now officially in the second trimester (as of today)! I am hoping to say good bye to the nausea and hello to more energy. One can wish but we shall see. Any way, it is crazy that there is a little human growing inside me. Pretty cool thing. Here is a picture of our allstar.
Doesn't it look just like me?
On to other cool stuff we have been up to... I went to Texas back in May to visit my bros Whittney and Ryan.

Back on the home front:
Dan and I both had birthdays! We are so much older and wiser now!

I went to the Toby Keith concert with my sisters! They are trying to turn me country. I do think cowboy boots are really cute so I guess there is a possibility.

It has been SO warm, and luckily, Dan got a slipnslide for his birthday.

We have been hanging out with our awesome friends! Bonfires, festivals, and the Rodeo. Man oh man I love summer!

Oh and also, back in April Dan and I celebrated our 4th year anniversary. How romantic. Sure do love that guy! I'm so happy to have him in my life and can't wait for the next year we have ahead of us.

Your Dentist's name is Crentist?

I just realized that I never put our leftover dinner from yesterday into containers. I actually didn't do anything with it, so it is just been sitting in the crock pot for 28 hours. Gross. I am going to gag big time cleaning that up.

Dan and I are sitting on the couch right now watching FACE OFF. This show is awesome. It is all about stage makeup. But crazy cool stage makeup. It is very impressive what they can do with makeup. I really wish I was that talented with makeup. Makeup.

Today Dan and I had dentist appointments so we took the whole afternoon off so we could get some things done as well as have clean teeth. I love getting my teeth cleaned, that silky smooth feeling afterwards is so nice. After that we ran some errands and got some yummy pumpkin chocolate chip bread from Great Harvest. mmmm. I like getting to spend time with my cute guy. I feel like we have been so busy with things lately that I haven't gotten to hang out with just him in a while. It was nice and reminded me why he married me. Because I am awesome and very fun to be around. ;)

Can I just vent for a second? I haven't been shopping in SO long and I am about to explode and spend a billion dollars. Thank goodness for Pinterest. Honestly. I am able to relieve some of my shopping desires by posting a million things to my clothes board and just imagine it is mine. I will say I am very proud of myself. Not that I am a crazy shopper, but I usually can't help but treat myself to a few things a month. Or a week. But we have high hopes of purchasing a home in the next month or so, so my purchases will be only absolute needs until then. Which is a sacrifice I am willing to make! Although, if anyone needs a shopping buddy, let me know. I will talk you into buying everything so I can live vicariously through you.

Speaking of Pinterest, this is what I am going to make soon:

and by soon I mean one day.

So, I may have mentioned that Dan and I are trying to finish the Book of Mormon by the end of February. We have prizes on the line if we are able to complete it. Let me just tell you, I am so going to win. I was really behind but have been playing catch up. There is no way Dan will finish in time, and I am determined to do so. I just re-read that, and I guess I shouldn't be so amped at beating Dan at something that we should both be doing anyway. It's not that I don't want him to finish, because I really do. I just gotta take my wins when I get them. :) But for real, it has been a big blessing in my life. I am not proud to admit this is the first time I've read it all the way through, but it has been super meaningful to me and I have tried really hard to understand what I am reading. Also, it is so interesting and full of hardcore battles. I know that it is true and am so happy we are blessed enough to have these words at our fingertips. #proudtobeLDS

Anyway, this is all for now. One day Dan and I will do more interesting things to make for more interesting reads. Until then, we are incredibly happy watching too much TV and going to bed earlier then most old people. Here's to great times now and super cool things to come!

The Possibilities are Endless!

I feel like I am such a lazy blogger these days. I enjoy blogging so I have a way to document us but sometimes it is just hard to keep up with it. I am renewing my efforts and adding that goal to my list: Blog More.

Dan says I have a really good KIP impression. You know Kip, from Napolean Dynomite? That is so sweet of him, and he is right, of course. "You're just jealous Napolean because I get to sit at home chatting with hot babes All. Day. Long." ...Told you I was good.

Last night we went bowling. It was fun, but I really sucked. I am a really inconsistant bowler. Actually maybe not so inconsistant as just plain bad, but every now and then I get lucky and have a really good game. Last night we put bets on it. If I won I got a 30 minute massage. If Dan won, I have to somehow incorporate the phrase "The possibibilities are endless" into every phone converstation I have all day Monday at work. I obviously lost, so Monday will be a very funny day especially considering my job is 90% phone calls.

I never did document our Holiday Season so even though Christmas feels like forever ago, we had such a great time I must still write about it. We went up to Idaho to spend the holiday with Daniel's family. It was great to see everyone and so fun to spend time with them. We watched White Christmas (one of my favs) on Christmas Eve and then patiently waited for Santa to come. Or not so patiently... I woke up at 7 and was too excited I couldn't go back to sleep. I laid there and laid there til I finally couldn't wait anymore and had to wake Dan and his sister up. I'm like a child I know but I just LOVE Christmas morning. We all got spoiled and then had a delicious Christmas breakfast that Michelle made. mmmmm. The rest of the time was spent playing games and getting to see a bunch of family. It was quite a jolly time and I'm glad we got to go up there!

New Years. We are partiers. Our friend Dave As Well came down and we played games, they woke me up at 11, and we rung in the new year with some Martinelli's and jumping up and down. It was very exciting and should have been televised.

like I said... partiers

After New Years I'm always a little sad because I have to wait a full year for Christmas season again. Why does it only happen once a year? That should be changed. :)

 "Peace Out." (Kip voice again).
