Rexburg? Really? Are you SURE?

Yesterday I had one of those moments where I just wanted to kick myself. My good friend from Texas, Olivia, is getting married! Her bridal shower was yesterday and it was at her aunts house. I was so excited, got all ready and headed on to the address Olivia gave me. I don't know my way around Rigby very well so I had her give me specific directions. I found the broulims and Maverick located on Main st. that I was suppossed to be near but the street to turn on didn't exist. I called Dan, who used to live in Rigby, and he tried to help me but he had never heard of that street and couldn't find it online anywhere. I drove in circles for an entire HOUR trying to find a house on a street that was nowhere in the whole city. I talked to Olivia's aunt and she told me to go to the Maverick and she would come meet me there. I went to the Maverick right as Dan called me back. Turns out that road ISN'T in Rigby... it's in REXBURG. I WAS IN THE WRONG CITY. wow, how embarrassing. I guess we never really talked about what city it was in. I knew she had family in Rigby so I guess I just assumed. She lives in Rexburg, so she rightfully assumed I knew it was in Rexburg. The weirdest part is that there is a broulims and a maverick on main street in BOTH places. Well the story ends with me missing the entire bridal shower and having to just head back home. How stupid do I seem now?!

The shine of it has caught my eye...

Thanksgiving was quite the adventure. Dan and I headed down to Utah the Sunday before and stayed with my parents for a few days. Then we loaded the whole family up and went down to St. George to spend Thanksgiving with my aunt and uncle and grandparents. It was such a nice vacation. We ate delicious food nonstop and went shopping a ton. I went Black Friday shopping for the first time ever- it was hilarious. I couldn't believe how many people were at walmart at 5 in the morning. It was insanity, we couldn't hardly push our cart around. But it was worth it- we got some excellent loot. Oh and also... I cut my bangs while I was down there! Actually, my sister did the actual cutting of the hair. I have been wanting to do it for a while but I was too nervous. But my sister and I just decided to do it. It's a nice change without cutting or dying my hair. Anyway, all and all a very fun Thanksgiving.

Erin won at Settlers for the first time, so we had to document it.
Erin's little girl, Hailey. So precious.
On the way down to St. George, my little sister thought it would be a good idea to hit me in the face. Luckily, I got a bloody nose. (please ignore the fact that I look bald and terrible)
Cute cheese face!
Thanksgiving Day!!
Uncle Doug relaxin in the sun after the feast. If only it was that warm here.
BLACK FRIDAY

My sis-in-law Tamara wanted to get a new laptop. There was a killer deal at Best Buy so we went there at 9 Thanksgiving night. The line was INSANELY long, and they only had 5 laptops. We knew we wouldn't be able to get one, and we didn't want to have to wait all night for nothing. So we went over to walmart, found that they too had some awesome laptop deals and got in line. Luckily we got to wait inside. Dan and my sister Jessie came over to hang out with us. We entertained ourselves with catch phrase most of the night. Dan and I weren't planning to buy anything initially but turns out we are easy pushovers when it comes to deals. We got a new laptop and some fun toys like ROCKBAND. We were there ALL night long from 9pm to 7am. It was absolute mayhem at 5 when the sale began. Every single aisle was completely full of people. We had all our stuff in 15 minutes and then waited in line for an hour and a half. Even though we got zero sleep, it was totally worth it!

New Moon

I haven't yet had a chance to talk about New Moon. I saw it at midnight when it came out with Whitt and her little sister Emily. I loved it. I thought they did a really good job at following the book, they only changed a few things. I have to admit that Jacob was a hottie in the movie and his bod was def better than Edwards. I still think Rob Pattinson is hoooottt and I like Edward better, even in the movie. He is just Edward and there is no beating that. I wish the scene at the Volturi was longer because it was awesome. I love Dakota Fanning. I also think Jessica is hilarious and they got the perfect actor for that role. I just want to go watch it over and over. I was impressed with the movie- it was much better in quality, acting, special effects, etc, than the first movie. Now we just have to wait patiently for Eclipse to come out!

PS: Don't you think Edward looks way better in this picture? He should have had this going on in the movie.

Blah Blah Blah

This is DAY 3 of my purgatory sentence. Allow me to explain... for my tech theatre class I am required to work backstage one of the school plays. This wouldn't be so bad (I actually really enjoy doing tech work for plays) but it is Monday thru Saturday from 6-midnight for three weeks. This means I have almost zero time for Dan, work, homework, and Gossip Girl. It is even more frustrating because for this same class I am required to do 40 hours of lab work in the theatre shop and I have to attend a 2 hour lab every week on top of that. Nothing can double count. Needless to say, I only have 6 hours and they are running out of lab hours available. URG! This month I also have so much going on in all my other classes that I'm starting to worry about when I will be able to do any of it. I know I shouldn't complain but it just sucks. I have tried to explain that I have to work but I have been told that if I miss a day I will nearly fail this class. IT IS ONLY A 3 CREDIT CLASS! Sadly it is required for my minor so I just have to tough it out but I think these are really unfair requirements. Oh how I wish this semester was already over.

Nothing Better than a Good Book

I love to read. When I find a good book, I don't put it down until I finish and then I read it over and over again. My problem is, I have a few series that I love and I tend not to branch out and find other books. On my list of excellent books are:
  • all the Harry Potter books (JK Rowling)
  • The Twilight Saga, (Stephenie Meyer)
  • Confessions of a Shopaholic, Remember Me?, The Undomestic Goddess, Can You Keep A Secret?(Sophie Kinsella)
  • Confessions of Georgia Nicholson (Louise Rennison)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia (C.S. Lewis)

And now, I have more to add. THE HUNGER GAMES series by Suzanne Collins. There are two books out in the series so far, and more to come. My sister told me about them so I finally decided I should give them a chance. I read both books in two days because they are so unbelievably good, I just couldn't stop. If you are looking for something to read- this is it. It has suspense, romance, action; the whole package. The first book is called The Hunger Games and the second is Catching Fire.

I am so happy to have a new series to wait impatiently every year for the next book to come out!

The Rise of the UNDEAD

Halloween! We had a ZOMBIE themed halloween this year. The Thursday before we went and shot our pumpkins! It was awesome, even tho it was freezing cold outside. We went with Ryan and Whittney and Whitt's little brother Aaron, and his friend Lindee. We had a whole course set up with zombies, baby zombie pumpkins, and soda cans to shoot. My camera died so I didn't get all the cool pics but here are some!

And here are what our pumpkins looked like after we masacred them:

This is one that the boys put tomato juice in... looks really gross!

We brought our costumes and shot real bullet holes in them so we could be ligit zombies.

Halloween night we had to work but it was okay because we got to dress up! We were disgustingly bloody and dead looking- just as zombies should be. I had a few tables who were very obviously grossed out and did not enjoy their server looking like I did. It was classic. We just walked around taking pictures with everyone we worked with. It was one of the funnest times I've had at work.

Now I really must make a shout out to our flag football team this year. We were ranked 2 but lost during tournament. We should have won it all. It was a blast tho! GO CONTENDERS!

Talks and Zombies

Hello again blogging world. I know it is becoming a trend for me to only post once a monthish but I'm trying to break the habit. Halloween is coming up and I am extremely excited. We are being ZOMBIES this year. Both of us have to work that day but it is okay because we get to dress up at work! It will make the whole night much more exciting. Also, in keeping with our Zombie Halloween, we painted pumpkins like ZOMBIES and we intend to fill them with tomato sauce and then shoot them. It will be gruesome and incredibly fun. Here is the final product:

It goes Whittneys, Dans, Allyxs, and Ryans. They will soon wish they were never created. (thanks for the pic potter)

I love this time of year because of all the HOLIDAYS! Halloween is awesome and then THANKSGIVING in St. George this year! And then Christmas with Dan's family. I love it love it love it. If only I didn't have school to put a damper on the festivities.

Other than that nothing too exciting in the lives of the Moedl's. We had to speak in church on Sunday. I was really nervous but I think it went over okay. Dan's talk was sooo good and he didn't even really prepare. I'm so jealous. I spent hours on mine, and he just stands up and starts talking and totally shows me up. But thats how it goes. :) I'm sad tho because we had to miss my neice- McKenzie's blessing because of our talks. Hopefully she didn't realize and will not hold it against us.

Also... New Moon is coming up fairly soon...
